If there is one thing that I'm a stickler on, that is keeping my tools clean. As a qualified Foot Health Practitioner, I am required to clean all my equipment in an autoclave (similar to a pressure cooker). This machine uses distilled water at a high temperature (134.5 degrees Celsius) which eradicates bacteria, spores and any viruses by disrupting their structure and denatures their proteins. By using an autoclave daily, it gives all my clients here at Reflexationz - treating Mind, Body and Soles, the peace of mind that my instruments are 100% clean.
The amount of times I hear clients say
"𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗱𝗼𝗱𝗴𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻" makes me shudder!
𝗧𝗶𝗽:
If / when you visit a nail bar, please check to see how clean their equipment is. What do they clean their instruments in?
Barbicide (a blue disinfectant) is often used in these bars, and although it is totally legal, it doesn't have the same intense effect as an autoclave.
